Nebraska's Football Team Focuses on the Future: Rhule Addresses Team Morale and Minnesota Preparation
Nebraska's football team is off to a strong start with a 5-1 record, but recent events have caused some concern among fans. The firing of James Franklin and the speculation surrounding Matt Rhule's potential move to Penn State have undoubtedly impacted team morale. However, during a media availability session on Wednesday, Rhule assured everyone that everything is business as usual.
"The only time players did media, they had to answer some different things," Rhule said. "But we're ready for a great football game, and this is our life moving forward. It's gonna be all about being a good team and things that come along with a good team."
Rhule's first game at the helm was in 2023, with a season-opening match against Minnesota. This upcoming trip north will be a homecoming for running back Emmett Johnson, who is from Minneapolis and is the Big Ten Conference's second-leading rusher. His high school will even be part of the trip.
On the injury front, Rhule confirmed that left tackle Elijah Pritchett is ready to go after rolling an ankle last week. However, nickel Malcolm Hartzog is out for the week, marking his fifth missed contest of the year.
While the team's focus remains on the present, the future is also on their minds. Nebraska's 2025 schedule is already shaping up, with home games highlighted in bold and all times listed in central time.
