Thanks to favorable weather conditions, the project team successfully captured new images of this comet, revealing a captivating and dramatic scene within its inner coma. The image above, a masterpiece of astronomical photography, is a result of combining 15 unfiltered 60-second exposures. Captured remotely using advanced equipment, including the Celestron C14+Paramount ME+SBIG ST-10XME, this image showcases the comet's intricate details. To preserve these details, the team made a bold choice to shorten the exposure time, and it paid off!
Upon closer inspection, several distinct parts become apparent. These could be sub-nuclei or clouds of debris, each telling a story of the comet's turbulent journey. Interestingly, a plume is also visible just below the leading fragment, adding to the comet's enigmatic nature.
